Island Teachers Conference planned for Belfast

by Staff Writer

The 2007 Island Teachers Conference (ITC) will be held on Thursday, Oct. 18 and Friday, Oct. 19 in Belfast.

This biennial event, last held in 2005, gives island teachers and administrators a unique opportunity to network, discuss common challenges and learn about new resources, strategies and tools. A broad range of workshops and presentations will address educational policy, new educational initiatives, and classroom management issues. The ITC will end with a plan for participants to continue their discussions and learning at regional meetings to be held throughout the year.

For more information, or to register for the event, please contact Sally Perkins at 594-9209 extension103 or visit Island Institute website and register online www.islandinstitute.org.
